The Gulayamanan Graduation Ceremony and Harvest Festival was held on January 14-15, 2025, in the barangays of Kampingganon and Mojon in Bantayan, Cebu. The event was made even more special with the presence of Bantayan Mayor Arthur E. Despi, First Lady Kikay Despi, and other esteemed members of the Bantayan LGU, alongside the dedicated team from the East-West Seed Foundation. Their attendance underscored the strong partnership and shared commitment to uplifting the lives of local farmers through sustainable agricultural practices and community support.
One of the event’s highlights was a cooking contest, where participants showcased their culinary creativity by preparing dishes using freshly harvested vegetables. The contest was not only a celebration of the program’s tangible impact on food security and nutrition but also a testament to the community’s resilience and innovation. It was truly a feast for the senses, with each dish reflecting the passion and teamwork of the farmers.
This milestone was made possible by the unwavering collaboration between the East-West Seed Foundation, the Bantayan LGU, and the 50 hardworking community participants who poured their time, energy, and dedication into the program. Their collective effort has resulted in a meaningful and sustainable change, proving that when communities come together, remarkable things can be achieved.
Congratulations to all the graduates and participants! Your hard work and commitment are a true inspiration to everyone. Here's to more milestones and continued success in the future! 🌱👏
